Defective emotes

Update 15.10.2024 – Beta 2

Today, I took some time to explore the latest Beta Update for the Elves. I have to say, there are some significant improvements: the skin looks much more natural, and a few new sliders have been added – fantastic! One thing I would still love to see is a slider for mouth width. While the overall look has improved, the lips sometimes still appear a bit too pouty.

I’m especially impressed with the male Elven templates. Perhaps these could also be made available for female characters? They no longer look as stern, which is a great improvement!

I won’t delve too deeply into the option of making Elves colorful or Asian-looking – everyone has their own preferences. Whether it fits within the lore, I can’t say. However, I am more satisfied than before.

That being said, there are still a few issues. If you try out the emotes, you’ll notice that some are still exaggerated, and for some characters, the eyes seem to “pop out.” This needs to be addressed across all races! On the bright side, the movement has improved significantly – please keep it that way! The issue with the “Russian catapult” look has also been minimized, though it’s still there. You can tweak this with the sliders, but the legs tend to become too thin. Hopefully, this will be refined in a future update.

Overall, I’m torn. There are clear improvements, but the exaggerated emotes still concern me. Nevertheless, I’m optimistic and will wait for the upcoming Beta updates.

If you’re interested, I’ve created both a male and a female avatar and compiled them into a YouTube video. The link is below, and the video is available in both German and English.

Until the next update!
