Darkbats Fantasy is expanding the fantasy world and venturing into new realms with The Elder Scrolls Online. We want to broaden our scope and tell stories in different universes. However, this does not mean that we are giving up Lord of the Rings Online.
Unfortunately, it has become increasingly difficult to shoot in HdRO recently. Lags, the new Elven avatars, broken emotes or invisible characters have made it quite difficult for us to have fun telling the story. With the last episode of season 2, however, Alenwen’s story is finished. So it was time for another step: stop or start something new. The decision was made in favour of the latter, and so our channels and websites were united under the name Darkbats Fantasy.
Alenwen may be out of the story, but Patsy Wackelwitz is ready to re-establish herself in our new series. But don’t worry, Lord of the Rings Online remains an option. I want to wait and see if the planned server move brings improvements before I decide whether it makes sense to return. I have plenty of ideas, such as a story in the Hobbit universe – they’re just on the waiting list for now.
I hope HdRO fans can still get a bit excited about Patsy, even though it’s a completely different game. Maybe you can just take a look, enjoy her crazy humour and maybe even be surprised at the end. Incidentally, you don’t have to play the game itself to like the series.
Another important point: Patsy’s story is independent of the lore of The Elder Scrolls Online. As with Alenwen, the game’s lore is not incorporated in any depth, but perhaps taken up in passing – nothing more.
I’m looking forward to taking you with me into this new chaotic and humorous world. Patsy is already waiting – and I’m sure she’ll surprise you!
