🎥 Technical innovations at dinner in the evening
With Im Abendrot beim Abendbrot, we have not only broken new ground musically, but also technically! For the first time, we used an innovative animation technique supported by an AI in the production of our music video.
How does it work?
This AI works completely locally on our computers and helps us to create realistic movements and animations. But that doesn’t mean that everything is automatic – a lot of manual labour is still required:
- Render time: The AI requires around 3 minutes of calculation for just 5 seconds of video.
- Facial expressions and movements: To make the characters look authentic, we have to record ourselves. Our facial expressions and head movements are then transferred to the animated figures.

Complex process
The animations for the video alone took around 2 hours of work. Then there’s the post-processing, because the AI results have to be upscaled and optimised afterwards to achieve the desired quality. You’ll need a NASA computer!
Despite the high cost, we are enthusiastic about the possibilities that this technology offers us and will certainly use it in future projects.
